Come out and play in the dirt! You can join the crew at People at Play as an “Operator,” “Foreman” or “Superintendent” depending on the amount of time and how many pieces of construction equipment you are interested in operating.

When you join the crew at People at Play you’ll test your hand/eye coordination with fun games and unique challenges using some of the world’s most extreme construction machines. You’ll definitely get a chance to dig in the dirt, but you can also choose to experience a demanding one-of-a-kind obstacle course and learn how we “dunk” a soccer ball using a huge steel bucket bucket on the end of the stick of a 20,000  lb. excavator!

Your ‘job’ at People at Play: The Heavy Equipment Experience was designed with one thing in mind: FUN! You’ll love testing your own agility and dexterity using different equipment made for earthmoving. And as an added bonus you’ll have a new-found respect and appreciation for the construction workers who use these machines to build today’s roads, highways and infrastructure.

The entry-level “Operator” experience is our most popular adventure and includes a safety and equipment orientation, keepsake hard hat and machine time operating a CAT 312 Track Excavator, including time to take on our one-of-a-kind Challenge Course $395.00 (+ tax) 2 Hour Experience

The “Foremen” adventure includes all of the elements of the Operator package, PLUS time operating a skid steer loader (also known as a “Bobcat”) followed by an opportunity to take on our unique ‘Skid Steer Rat Maze Course.’ $625.00 (+ tax) 3 Hour Experience

The big-daddy of them all is the “Superintendent” program which includes all of the items in the Operator and Foreman packages PLUS time on a CAT track type bulldozer and hearty boxed lunch – perfect for a hungry construction worker! $1575.00 (+ tax) 6 Hour Experience

In response to popular demand People at Play is now offering three different one-hour experiences where individuals with a limited amount of time, but an insatiable desire to operate big yellow construction machines can get their adrenaline rush by operating a CAT 257B skid steer loader (or “Bobcat”), a CAT 312 Steel Track Excavator or a CAT D3 bulldozer at Florida’s only construction playground!

The “Just Play Skid Steer Experience” includes a safety and machine orientation and equipment time operating a CATERPILLAR 257B Skid Steer Loader in an open area with mounds of dirt to move and maneuver around. This one hour experience is reasonably priced at $155.00 (+tax) per person.

The “Just Dig Excavator Experience” includes a safety and machine orientation and equipment time operating a CATERPILLAR 312 Steel Track Excavator – People at Play’s most popular earthmoving machine. This one hour experience is $195.00 (+tax) per person.

The “Just Doze Bulldozer Experience” is certainly not a sleeper! This package includes a safety and machine orientation and equipment time operating a CATERPILLAR D3 Steel Track-type Tractor or “Bulldozer.” This one hour experience is $195.00 (+tax) per person.

People at Play: The Heavy Equipment Experience operates by appointment only and we are available seasonally on select weekends. Participants are required to pre-register and pre-pay for their experience. All participants must be age 18 and over.
